Common questions

Does it require Accessibility or Input Monitoring permission?

No. EyeRhythm-Lite does not require either permission. Optional notification permission enables local macOS notifications; preferences and usage statistics remain on your Mac.

Why don’t I see EyeRhythm-Lite in the Dock?

That is expected. EyeRhythm-Lite is a menu-bar app. Look for the eye icon on the right side of the menu bar. From there you can start a break, open Preferences or Usage Statistics, show Eye Guardian, restore purchases, and quit the app.

How do the 7-day trial and Full Unlock work?

Version 1.1 offers a seven-day trial of every feature, activated through Apple. The trial is not a subscription and does not renew or charge automatically. Continued use after it expires requires Full Unlock, a one-time in-app purchase that permanently unlocks all features. Check the App Store and in-app purchase screen for local availability and price.

How do I restore a purchase?

In version 1.1, open the EyeRhythm-Lite menu, choose Unlock EyeRhythm-Lite if needed, then select Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. EyeRhythm-Lite has no separate account or password.

Why am I not receiving advance reminders?

Open System Settings, choose Notifications, and allow notifications for EyeRhythm-Lite. Then open EyeRhythm-Lite Preferences and confirm Enable Notifications is selected. The on-screen Eye Guardian and the macOS notification are separate, so check both settings.

Can I dismiss Eye Guardian or end a break early?

Yes. Preferences includes a click-to-dismiss option for Eye Guardian. Breaks are voluntary, and the fullscreen countdown always includes End Break Early. Ending one break window closes the break across all connected displays.

How does language selection work?

Version 1.1 supports 20 languages across 21 localizations, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese. It follows the preferred language order in macOS. EyeRhythm-Lite does not use your GPS, IP address, or physical location to choose a language.

Where are my preferences and statistics stored?

They stay locally on your Mac in the app’s sandboxed storage. EyeRhythm-Lite does not provide cloud sync, accounts, advertising, or third-party analytics. See the Privacy Policy for details.
